Frank TorchioFrank C. Torchio

Frank is the President of Forensic Economics, Inc., located in Rochester, New York. He founded Forensic Economics, Inc. in 1989.  Frank teaches a finance and valuation course to second-year MBA students at the William E. Simon Graudate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester.  Frank has passed the Level III examination of the chartered financial analyst (CFA®) program of the CFA Institute and has been awarded the CFA® charter, which is a globally recognized standard for measuring the competence and integrity of valuation practitioners and investment professionals.

Frank has consulted on issues pertaining to financial valuations, regulatory economics, transfer pricing, and financial-economic analysis, and has analyzed the response of stock prices to public information for over 15 years.

Frank has testified successfully at trial and numerous times in depositions and at arbitrations. Mr. Torchio’s areas of expert testimony include business valuation, investment portfolio analysis, damages arising from breach of contract, and damages in securities fraud lawsuits. He has co-authored an article about the trading models used for estimating damages in securities lawsuits. The article is published in Duke University School of Law’s Law and Contemporary Problems (Vol. 64, Spring-Summer 2001).

He holds an MBA in Finance and Economics (1982) from the University of Rochester’s William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration and a BA in Mathematics from Niagara University. Mr. Torchio was the 1991 Rosenthal Fellow at the University of Rochester for innovative developments in applying financial-economic theory. 

 

James CanessaJames L. Canessa

Jim is a vice president of Forensic Economics, Inc. and has fifteen years experience in the mergers and acquisitions field. He has advised attorneys in securities litigation matters on M&A transactions with an aggregate deal value of $19 billion. Jim’s experience encompasses both bulge bracket investment banking as well as leading over 60 acquisitions. He has had significant involvement in all stages of acquisitions, from deal flow origination and performing due diligence to designing structured finance strategies, from transaction negotiations to leading post-acquisition integration efforts. He holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester where he graduated Beta Gamma Sigma and was awarded the Edmund D. McGarry Fellowship. He also holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Oregon. Jim is currently a Level II CFA candidate.

 
Kenneth KotzKenneth N. Kotz

Ken is a vice president of Forensic Economics, Inc. and has worked for Forensic Economics since 1999. Ken has an extensive background in financial economic research. He has an M.S. in Applied Economics from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester, with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. His coursework included Ph.D. level classes in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Econometrics, and Statistics. While at the Simon School, he also taught an undergraduate class in Financial Management, was a teaching assistant for several second-year Finance M.B.A. courses, and served as a research assistant. Ken earned an M.B.A. from the Graduate School of Business at Loyola University Chicago, where he received an Outstanding Student Award. During his study at Loyola, he served as a research assistant to the Finance faculty. Ken also holds a B.A. (cum laude) in History from the University of Pennsylvania, and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® designation, as authorized by the CFA® Institute, in 2006.

 
Patrick KrenzerPatrick C. Krenzer

Patrick is a vice president of Forensic Economics, Inc. and has worked at Forensic Economics for over three years. Prior to working at Forensic Economics, he worked for over eight years in the legal field working as a paralegal and an in-house valuation analyst. He has had significant involvement in all stages of case valuation from preliminary estimates to preparing the attorney and expert witnesses for trial. Patrick holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Strategy from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester and a B.S. in Pre-Professional Sciences from the University of Notre Dame.

 
Howard MulcaheyHoward Mulcahey

Howard is a vice president of Forensic Economics, Inc. and has an extensive background in finance and business management. He has professional experience as CFO, COO and in other senior management positions during his 30-year career. He has worked with private investors as well as venture capital, investment and commercial banking firms to successfully raise equity and debt capital. Howard has an extensive background in financial-economic analysis, business-financial valuations, and business management. He also has experience with mergers & acquisitions and has contributed to litigation support for securities fraud lawsuits, business valuations, and consulting for profit improvement and increased business value. Howard holds an M.B.A. in finance from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Hobart College.

 
Sanjay PansariSanjay Pansari

Sanjay is a vice president of Forensic Economics, Inc. and has worked for Forensic Economics since 1999. Sanjay has professional experience in financial valuations and financial-economic analysis in securities fraud lawsuits in addition to investment banking including equity sales & trading and business valuation for mergers & acquisitions. Sanjay has also been involved in syndicating short and long-term financing for corporate clients. Sanjay holds an M.B.A. in finance, corporate accounting and competitive & organizational strategy from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester and a B.Com in economics and accounting from St. Xavier’s College at the University of Calcutta. He is also a Chartered Accountant and a Cost & Management Accountant. In addition, he has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)® designation by the Association for Investment Management and Research in 2002. Sanjay is also an Associate of the American Society of Appraisers.
