Valuations

Independent valuations are often critical in securities cases. Forensic Economics has valuation expertise and significant experience using security valuations in litigation cases. Chief among our valuation tools is ALCAR's valuation software, a sophisticated software program, which is used for discounted cash flow valuations. The ALCAR valuation approach had a notable and favorable impact in the Technicolor opinion of the Delaware Chancery Court in 1990.

Market Model Chronology

The Chronology is based on a methodology used in financial economics called "event study" methodology. Event studies have been used by financial economists to study and research securities' pricing behavior for over 30 years. Forensic Economics' Chronology is an easy and effective way to analyze the stock market's reaction to new information about a public company by merging the daily stock prices and other price data with press releases, analysts reports, and news stories from many different sources. It is an integral tool to securities cases in determining damages and establishing reliance from an economic perspective.

Our proprietary software, developed by our technical consultants, allows us to download news stories and prices directly into a database from which the chronology is then generated. We have the unique ability to turnaround, within 24 hours from a request, a sophisticated and impressive-looking Chronology that can encompass several years of daily stock prices, statistics, and news events.
